Worship and Care Ministries

Choir

Mount Olivet Choir is a small choir with all vocal parts represented.  We would love to have more singers to fill out our ranks. We practice weekly and take off the summer.  We perform about once a month.  We have a wide variety of songs from classic hymns to praise songs.  We practice until we are comfortable to perform.  Our membership has changed over the years, but Susan Elliott has been our accompanist since she started playing at Mount Olivet.

Bell Choir

Mount Olivet Bell Choir has been active for about 30 years.  Our membership has changed over the years.  We have been fortunate to have continued ringing through the COVID years. Our pianist, Susan Elliott, accompanies us most of the time.  Having the piano accompaniment provides a fuller, richer sound.  New bell ringers are always welcome.  You do not need to be able to read music to ring with us.  We practice from September through May or early June and perform during the worship service about once a month.

Bible Study

Bible Study is held in the Spring for the Lenten Season and in the Fall for Advent.  Bible Study offered at other times on topics which are not seasonal.  We studied Baptism during a recent Bible Study.

Club Sandwich Ministry

Club Sandwich Ministry is a sandwich making event for the homeless.  We are currently making 70 sandwiches for two homeless shelters. This gathering reflects the spirit of Christian service that has always been central to the life of the church. We gather to build community, contribute to those in need, and celebrate the joy of giving.

Prayer Shawl 2026

The Prayer Shawl ladies resumed meeting after an extended holiday recess. We used our gathering to swap patterns, compare yarn and recognize inventory needs. The cold weather brings out needles, hooks and yarn with scarves being a frequent choice.  We are open for visitors, accepting of yarn looking for a home and needing assistance for shawl distribution.
